MoMA security guard notes for 1975 'Xerox and Blood' exhibition
Cortez was employed as a security guard at MoMA in 1974-75. He was invited to make a show at the Whitney Museum Art Resources Center. The exhibition was titled 'Xerox and Blood' and opened in Spring, 1975. Cortez's made several conceptual wall series which dealt with the issues of security and art. One series reflects on the attack on Picasso's Guernica by artist Tony Shafrazi.
