Eastern Air Lines

This is a collection of memorabilia related to the Transport Workers Union of America, Local 553 (New York, NY). Included in this collection are political/labor buttons, bumper stickers, union pins, gift sets and some union labeled clothing.

Nancy McKenzie's TWU Local 553 Air Transport Division Files, 1963-1995 (bulk 1986-1989), contains administrative records as well as daily member updates sent during the 1989 sympathy strike against Eastern Air Lines. The collection also includes material related to Eastern Air Lines’ bankruptcy proceedings and the purchase of the Eastern Air Lines Shuttle by Trump Shuttle, Inc.
